Enrichment

Our mission is to give care, compassion and enrichment to the dogs in Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter.  Your time and efforts will aide in increased adoptions and finding homes for all dogs!  We are committed to providing consistent, reliable, and professional solutions for animal related problems which encourage responsible attitudes and allow people and animals to co-exist in a safer environment. 

This program is designed to utilize the downtimes in the dogs’ daily activities in order to teach, engage and explore using their five senses. Activities can range from making enrichment bowls, stuff Kongs, Frisbees, lick mats or scent work depending on the day.   

This requires a commitment of (1) two hour scheduled shift/time per week.  Registration is $10 that includes a CCAS tee.

Requirements:  18+ years; Having watched the New Volunteer Orientation as well as signing the liability waiver and Code of Conduct.   There are (2) two hour hands on training sessions with a mentor.  

Someone from the team will reach out to you once you've completed your video to schedule your training. 

(Depending on the Enrichment activity, more dog handling training may be provided)
