Volunteer: Dogs Day Out!

You're here!

Welcome to the Dogs Day Out Program.   A program designed to not just get our dogs out of the shelter for a little bit, but also in hopes that they'll catch someone's eye.

We ask that you keep them out at least 2 hours.  But we're hoping that you keep them out the whole day and gets lots of people interested in potentially adopting them.

This program is for adults 18+.  If bringing children, you must be their parent or guardian and they need to be 10+ years.  As best practice, we encourage you to not leave your child and the dog in the car unattended.

While we're sure you may already have your favorites, we have chosen dogs who need a break from the shelter and are often overlooked, so you'll be assigned a dog.  Dogs will typically be between 35 - 50 lbs., so please be comfortable with dogs of varying strength, size and temperaments.

We'll supply all the necessary items for your afternoon out:

A backpackLeash & car seatbeltCollapsible water bowlA list of fun, dog friendly places to go in the communityTreats
