Opportunities From: Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter

Not considered a glamorous shift and yet, one of the most helpful opportunities at the shelter!  This morning shift has you collecting and washing the dog's food and water bowls, washing and restocking for the next day.  Best part of this shift is that you are one of the first people to greet the dogs and say, "Good Morning!" without having any hand-on interaction.

A perfect opportunity for someone who wants to help out, get it done early and without the exertion of walking the dogs. 

The shift is available 7 days a week & while typically a 1.5 hours, please allow some flexibility for it either going slightly shorter or longer based on need.  There is a $10 fee that includes a CCAS tee.

Sometimes we get the scrawny dogs, sometimes the highly energetic dogs, sometimes the dogs who just need a mid day 'pick me up' to keep their brains sharp and their bodies active.  That's where you come in!  

Second feeds is a specially curated list of dogs who need a second meal (or an enrichment Kong) mid day.  This shift includes making their meals, handing them out and washing their dishes before you leave.  

Registration fee is $10 and includes a CCAS tee. 

There are (2) one on one training sessions with a mentor. 

This shift is approximately 1.5 - 2 hours in length.

We'll reach out via email and start scheduling the first of your (2) 2 hour training sessions with a mentor.

Giving our dogs Kongs is just one of the many enrichment activities we use to help our dogs decompress from a long stressful day of shelter living.   

This shift makes you the chef!  Stuffing the Kongs in whatever way you wish (as long as they're delicious!) so we can hand them out several days a week.
